The Best Red Carpet Looks From The 2024 Golden Globes

It’s officially the beginning of the 2024 Hollywood awards season, and you know what that means — great fashion. And it all starts with the 81st Golden Globe Awards. The first awards show of the season, celebrating the best film and television over the last year, not only sets the tone for the season's winners, but also acts as an indicator of just what designers, trends, and accessories we’ll see gracing red carpets from now until the Oscars.

And this is a big one. This Golden Globes is the first awards show since the 2023 Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which halted the entertainment industry for months. And after several years of turmoil surrounding this particular awards show, including an industry-wide boycott that saw the Golden Globes go off the air in 2022, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) is no more, and the Globes are officially under new leadership.

There’s a lot riding on this show, but we were not disappointed when it came to the fashion. After a year that has given rise to Barbie-core, there’s been a resurgence in the joy of not just dressing, but dressing for fun.

Leaning into bold, monochromatic colors, the carpet was awash with bright reds (Ayo Edebiri, Julianne Moore, Barry Keoghan, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph), classic creams and whites (Hunter Schafer, Ali Wong, Natasha Lyonne, Keri Russell, and Andrew Scott), strong suits (Ariana Greenblatt, Colman Domingo), and of, course, vibrant pop of pink from Barbie star Margot Robbie and Jennifer Lopez. The stars were out and ready to mingle — plus give us all the outfit inspo.

Ariana Greenblatt

The Barbie star hit the red carpet early on into the night, looking chic AF in St. Laurent for her appearance at the Golden Globes. It wasn’t Barbie pink, but the star’s tailored pantsuit look, topped off with Jimmy Choo heels and a plethora of Chopard jewels (those rings!!), screame sophistication. Margot Robbie

Quinta Brunson

Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy nominee Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary was one of the first people on Globes carpet. She wore a champagne Balmain column dress and Jimmy Choo shoes. Photo: Amy Sussman/Getty Images.

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike walked the Golden Globes carpet in a black lace Dior couture gown. The look wasn’t just an homage to Saltburn, but also necessary, with her veil serving as “a protective veil” after the actress had a skiing accident the day after Christmas. Photo: Amy Sussman/Getty Images.

Natasha Lyonne

You can never go wrong with Schiaparelli. At least according to Poker Face actress and nominee Natasha Lyonne. The star walked the carpet in a white sequined Schiaparelli dream and boots. Her reason? “If you’re gonna leave the house, you might as well go all the way,” Lyonne told Variety.Photo: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images.

Barry Keoghan

The men have been showing up and showing out with their suits on the red carpet over the past few years, and we’re welcoming Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan into that fold. Here he rocks a red custom Louis Vuitton suit. Photo: Monica Schipper/GA/The Hollywood Reporter/Getty Images.
