25 Holiday-Ready Red Pieces from Banana Republic December 18, 2019 at 06:45PM
Even if bold isn't your go-to, it's hard to deny the power of red when you want to get into a festive spirit. It's in many ways equally as classic as black but adds a vibrancy that can take even statement pieces to a new level of glam. Banana Republic has an abundance of options for this party-ready shade.
Keep in mind that when shopping red, the choices are vast. You don't need a super bright cherry to add some life to a neutral ensemble. A deep crimson or burgundy can add just the right pop without taking things overboard. What's also great about red is that if isn't totally your color, you can keep the dosage concentrated to a small accent like a clutch or earring. No matter how big or small you want to wear your red, Banana Republic has the choices.

Paris Hilton, Self-Described "Juicy Girl For Life," Reflects on the 2000s Tracksuit December 18, 2019 at 01:40PM
"When people think back on 2000s fashion, the first thing they're gonna think about is Juicy Couture," Paris Hilton recently told Vogue. (We'd like to add that the second thing people will likely think of is Paris herself.) In a video interview that seems practically plucked out of Sofia Coppola's mind, the socialite reflected on Juicy Couture tracksuits and how they coincided with her own rise in fame.
When Juicy Couture founders Pamela Skaist-Levy and Gela Nash-Taylor introduced the brand's tracksuit in 2001, fashion was being dominated by distinctive logos, embellishments, and a general air of excess. "I feel like everybody just had fun with their fashion choices. I think it was just all about being super extra," Paris said. "Before there was Juicy, I think tracksuits were just very sporty and athletic. They were the first ones to actually make a tracksuit cool."
Just before she began filming A Simple Life in 2003, Paris was introduced to the tracksuit through publicist Lara Shriftman. "As soon as I put on my first Juicy tracksuit, I was obsessed," she said. "I just fell in love with the brand, and it basically became my uniform."
Needless to say, the show made Paris and Nicole Richie household names - along with Juicy Couture, which they wore plenty of on the show. "When we shot the show, I had no idea how huge it would be. That just took me to another level where I literally could not leave my house without being mobbed every single day," Paris said.
"I'm a Juicy girl for life."
Nearly a decade later, Paris still wears Juicy Couture tracksuits. In fact, she has an entire closet dedicated to the brand: "I've never stopped wearing it, and I never will, because I'm a Juicy girl for life." Though Paris can take partial credit for the trend's former ubiquity, her famous catchphrase, she cannot. "'That's hot' is something that my sister actually always used to say - but I trademarked it and I own it," she said. "Sorry, Nicky."
Virgil Abloh, King Of The Hypebeasts, Says Streetwear Is Over December 18, 2019 at 06:26AM
Well, we didn’t see this one coming: Virgil Abloh, the king of the “remix,” says streetwear is dead. Box up all those limited-edition T-shirts and graphic hoodies, because according to Abloh, your days of being considered fashionable while wearing either are numbered. Dazed magazine asked Abloh where he thought streetwear was headed in 2020. His response: “Wow. I would say it’s gonna die, you know?”
Actually, no, we did not know, considering the speed at which Abloh himself pushed out streetwear-inspired collaborations over the past decade: In addition to designing for Louis Vuttion and his own label Off-White, he also found time to collaborate with Ikea; debut swimwear; dress Serena Williams for the US Open; work with New York City Ballet on costumes; design limited-edition (but chic AF) black sunglasses for Warby Parker; collab with Nike on Yeezy-fied Air Force Ones; and make Cinderella-inspired Jimmy Choos. He even sued brands for their use of quotation marks and red zip ties — an Off-White signature, apparently.
“Like, its time will be up,” Abloh continued. “In my mind, how many more t-shirts can we own, how many more hoodies, how many sneakers? I think that like we’re gonna hit this like, really awesome state of expressing your knowledge and personal style with vintage – there are so many clothes that are cool that are in vintage shops and it’s just about wearing them,” he said. “I think that fashion is gonna go away from buying a boxfresh something; it’ll be like, hey I’m gonna go into my archive.”
Kanye West introduced the fashion industry to Abloh, who worked as the rapper’s fashion advisor and creative director for 14 years — the two even interned at Fendi together. “I was working and then all of a sudden, I got a call from Kanye West,” Abloh told System magazine of meeting the man who would change his life. “He said: ‘Hey, I heard about this kid in Chicago who can design and understands music and culture.’”
Maybe West is right, and Virgil does understand the culture. The good news is if you’ve been following Abloh’s career (and shopping his collaborations) over the last decade, you’ll definitely have an arsenal of “vintage” in your “archive.”

The Best Places to Buy Vintage - and Resell Your Old Clothes December 18, 2019 at 06:36AM
Shopping resale and vintage clothing has become more and more popular with each passing year. Not only does it give you nearly unfettered access to one-of-a-kind jewels, past designer collections no longer in stores, and the closets of some of the chicest women you've never met, but it's also a more sustainable way to shop. It is, quite literally, the embodiment of the saying "one person's trash is another's treasure." In a newly released survey conducted by resale company Vestiaire Collective, 73 percent of respondents said that they "go to the platform looking for desirable pieces they can't find elsewhere and their friends won't have," while a whopping 97 percent said that they "shop pre-owned as they are looking for value for money and good deals."
What's more, the merchandise selection is killer. Finding that special something becomes almost like a game - especially as you sell from your own closet to finance your style-loving habits. Hence why The RealReal has taken on the slogan "I shop, therefore I consign." Ahead, find the best places to buy (and sell!) vintage pieces and exactly how to go about the process.

This Harry Styles T-Shirt Benefits Women, and I Have Permanent Heart Eyes December 18, 2019 at 06:12AM
Harry Styles and Gucci designer Alessandro Michele collaborated on a $75 limited-edition t-shirt in the name of Harry's new album, Fine Line. It's not just cute, it doesn't just look cute on Harry, it also comes in an eco-conscious material and a portion of proceeds go to the Global Fund For Women, dedicated to promoting gender equality. Swoony, swoon, swoon.
When he stepped out in London, Harry tucked his own shirt into a pair of loose, coffee-colored trousers that skimmed the floor but still allowed us a peek at his bright white Vans. He covered up - but not too much of that graphic! - with a tweed plaid blazer, and he hung a strand of pearls around his neck, slipped on a bunch of rings, and topped things off with tortoise Gucci sunglasses. Harry greeted fans and took some selfies, and I hope they all took note of the top he was wearing.
Just so you're aware, if you are interested in buying the tee for a good cause, there are online brands already copying the logo, so make sure you're shopping it here, on Harry's site. Interested in the bonus? Good, we thought so. It also comes with a full digital download of Harry's record. Unfortunately, Harry is not included in the bundle, but man, the price we'd pay for that . . .

Hailey Baldwin Got to Wear the Best Outfits of Her Life in 2019 December 18, 2019 at 04:49AM
Hailey Baldwin got to wear some pretty cool outfits in 2019, most of which she'll probably cherish forever - you know, like that custom Off-White wedding dress maybe? Then there were her standout campaigns and covers - we're always used to her sharing these with us month by month, but this year marked some pretty monumental moments. Hailey's Levi's collab brought huge, retro-inspired billboards to Times Square, and she starred on the cover of Vogue's March issue with her husband, Justin Bieber, too. The newlyweds also sent fans' hearts racing with their Calvin Klein underwear video in early October. So yes, it's safe to say that everywhere we looked we saw Hailey . . . and a superstylish outfit to boot.
When Hailey wasn't working, she was doing her usual old thing - hanging in bikinis (her swim color choice of the year appeared to be green), modeling Justin's Drew House merch, and stepping out in cozy, oversize silhouettes that somehow always looked incredibly chic on Hailey so long as they were capped off with a pair of pointed-toe boots. Scroll through to reminisce about Hailey's incredible 2019, then go back in time and check out her 2018 style moments. We're not suggesting you compare apples to oranges, but I mean, OK, what we wouldn't give to have worn Hailey's wardrobe this year, amiright?
50 Kim Kardashian Outfits That Define the Whole Damn Decade December 18, 2019 at 04:17AM
I remember the episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians when Kanye West cleaned out Kim Kardashian's closet, and (sue me) I'm not even a fan of the show. I didn't "keep up" religiously like some, but as a fashion person, I'm well aware of both the influence Kanye has had on his wife from a style standpoint and the prowess with which Kim has impacted the fashion industry on her own. After all, Kanye is never the one wearing Kim's clothes. Kim has carried herself with confidence, creating iconic looks that are all her own and most recently setting the tone for vintage shopping in 2019, which so many young people have picked up on.
Nowadays, Kim sources archival designer pieces for red carpet events from fashion houses like Thierry Mugler, Versace, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Galliano. When she's off-duty, she generally flaunts her shapewear line Skims - she's built the cotton collection around her laid-back athleisure taste - allowing fans to easily tap into the trend that also mirrors Kanye's famous Yeezy aesthetic. That's now, but at the beginning of the decade in 2010, Kim was decked out in bandage dresses and platform patent pumps. She wore furry vests and flares on the street and those huge "bug eye" sunglasses we all know and love. Kanye introduced her to labels like Balmain in 2012, elevating her body-con selections, and by 2013, the couple were attending the Met Gala together (Kim dressed her baby bump in those famous Givenchy florals). Come April 2014, Kim and Kanye were on the cover of Vogue, marking a serious milestone.
While it's difficult to choose favorite outfits of Kim's from the past 10 years, we definitely think the ones ahead speak to Kim's overall transformation, spark nostalgia, and pinpoint moments in history that we'll remember forever. If you're studying the connection between fashion and pop culture, Kim just so happens to be a prime subject, so let's dive right in.

Storm Reid Owns Her Cool Confidence in a Black Leather Minidress and Go-Go Boots December 18, 2019 at 03:05AM
"Young goddess," "iconic, and "baddie" are just a few comments left by friends and fans under Storm Reid's new, confident Instagram photo. The Euphoria actress posted a snap of herself posed up at West Hollywood's Quixote Studios wearing a head-to-toe black leather outfit, accompanied by the caption "Alexa play Press by Cardi B" - okay young boss, we see you.
Storm's belted black leather dress and pointed-toe go-go boots are by French leather goods brand Longchamp. Her stylists from JSN style team (who also work with A-listers like Yara Shahidi and Alicia Keys) finished off the look with long, black-and-brown, ombré waves. Head-to-toe leather is a surprisingly mature choice for the teenage star, but judging by the look that Storm is giving the camera, you know she's on a whole new vibe. Her pose says that she is arriving, owning her confidence, and knows she looks damn good while doing it.
Keep reading ahead for a cool video of Storm Reid strutting for the 'gram.
The $68 Jumpsuit I'm Wearing to Every Holiday Party on My Calendar December 18, 2019 at 03:01AM
I love a good outfit repeat. Not only is it simpler to throw on a formula I already know I'm into, but it's easier on my wallet, too. What's more, I live for the challenge of styling a single piece multiple ways; the result always leaves me with a fresh-feeling outfit that A) helps satiate the compulsion to shop and spend on more items I don't need and B) helps combat outfit fatigue and/or the fear that people will look at me and think to themselves, "Hasn't she worn that already?" Festive fashion is no exception, and this season, I've got a specific holiday hero piece on my radar: the POPSUGAR Tailored Knit Jumpsuit ($68).
With roomy but not-too-loose cropped legs, a flattering self-tie waist, and long sleeves with smocked cuffs for a bit of volume, this black jumpsuit is the epitome of versatile. For the holiday season, it's the exact kind of piece you can buy and wear on repeat without anyone being the wiser. Style it with sparkly accessories for a glitzy holiday look. Layer on a knit for an office-to-after-hours ensemble. Channel a retro vibe with a tuxedo blazer over top and slouchy gold boots for a glamorous touch. There are so many options, but the best feature of all? It's so soft and comfortable, it feels as good as pajamas but appears polished. As a bona fide cozy queen with a penchant for style, it doesn't get any better!
Ahead, witness me wearing this Tailored Knit Jumpsuit from the newest POPSUGAR collection at Kohl's three different ways for the holiday season. Then, shop each of my looks head-to-toe, including my exact items as well as affordable alternatives to please every budget.
