Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS Tapped Kate Moss For New Campaign

Supermodel Kate Moss is now the new face of SKIMS’ new TV campaign. On Tuesday, Kim Kardashian made the announcement on Twitter

“[Kate Moss] is the fashion icon, defining whole generations of culture and style and I am honored to feature her as the new face of SKIMS this Summer,” the entrepreneur said in a press release. She added that the two have been friends since 2014 when they first met through their mutual friend and Burberry creative director Riccardo Tisci.

Moss will model SKIMS’ Cotton and Fits Everybody collections, two of the best-selling in the brand’s three-year history, including the Cotton Rib Bralette and Brief and the Fits Everybody Scoop Neck Bra and Brief

“I’ve been a fan of SKIMS since day one,” said Moss in a press release. “What Kim is doing with the brand is so fresh and modern, making underwear women actually want and that fits perfectly. Moss added that even her mom wears SKIMS.

Although SKIMS has run previous television ads, this is the first that doesn’t feature Kardashian, who launched the brand alongside Jens Grede in 2019. Other SKIMS social media and digital campaigns have featured celebrities like Rumer Willis, Addison Rae, and Jodie Turner-Smith.

The new campaign comes right after SKIMS dropped its collaboration with Team USA ahead of the Tokyo Olympics — starting July 23 — which will be the official undergarments for the delegation’s female athletes. The collection, which dropped on July 12, is almost sold out.

Starting July 15, you’ll be able to see Moss modeling SKIMS’ intimates on TV in ads directed by photographer and longtime SKIMS collaborator Donna Trope.

Sarah Jessica Parker Is Bringing Back The Double-Bag Look For The SATC Reboot

NEW YORK, NY – JULY 13: Sarah Jessica Parker is seen on the film set of the “And Just Like That” TV Series on July 13, 2021 in New York City. (Photo by MediaPunch/Bauer-Griffin/GC Images)

If you thought the Sex And The City reboot would only include throwback trends from the years the HBO series aired (1998 to 2004), you were mistaken. According to new photos taken on the set of the forthcoming show, titled And Just Like That…, we should expect to see fads from more recent years, too. For proof, see Sarah Jessica Parker Carrie Bradshaw sporting the double-bag trend.

While filming And Just Like That… on Tuesday, Parker wore a vintage Claude Montana linen jumpsuit from Replika Vintage with a floral jacket, a feather hat (an ode to her feather wedding headpiece, perhaps?), and multicolored heeled sandals. Being the New Yorker that she is, which means she can’t possibly fit all her necessities in just one bag, the actress carried with her not one, but two handbags, both worn cross-body. The shorter of the two bags appears to be made of a silver chain material, while the longer accessory is teal, smaller in size, and made of straw or wicker.

The bag hack isn’t an entirely new concept. The double-bag trend first found popularity in 2012, before popping up again in 2015, and again in 2019. Now that Bradshaw has given the look her stamp of approval, we can expect the double-bagging to make yet another comeback by the time the reboot airs (the date for which is yet to be announced).

Like the old days of SATC, Parker’s character continues to make daring fashion choices. Thus far in filming, she’s already worked corsets, platform Mary-Janes, and chin-strap hats into her wardrobe. In fact, all three were incorporated into a single outfit (HBO Max-imalism!). On Monday, she was photographed wearing a more toned-down look — a baby pink jacket with a champagne-colored pleated dress and a pair of white kitten heels.

Dua Lipa’s Zebra-Print Bikini Is Summer’s Most-Wanted Swimsuit

On Tuesday, Lyst released its Q2 Index for 2021, a quarterly report by the global fashion shopping platform that compiles data from the shopping habits of more than 150 million people to come up with the hottest brands and products in fashion. One of this season’s top hits? Dua Lipa’s zebra-print bikini from The Attico. The animal-print two-piece, which the Future Nostalgia singer wore with a cowboy hat and hot pants in the Western-inspired music video “Love Again,” was sixth on the report’s list of the top-10 hottest products for women, making it the most sought-after swimsuit of the summer

According to Lyst, following the release of the music video in June — the same month Hailey Bieber was spotted in the scoop neck version of Lipa’s bikini — searches for “zebra-print bikinis” increased by 224%.

According to Morgane Le Caer, Lyst’s content lead, the suit is just one of many popular beachy moments that the company has noticed this summer. “The beach aesthetic is shaping up in fashion searches,” she tells Refinery29. “We’ve noticed a 192% increase in searches for beachwear in quarter two compared to the same period in 2020.” That explains why Jacquemus’ Le Bob Artichaut bucket hat was third on Lyst’s top-10 hottest products list. Meanwhile, Gucci’s rubber beach sandals were seventh and Versace’s mermaidcore-esque Trésor De La Mer one-piece was eighth.

Rounding out the list were Nike Air Force One sneakers at number one, which is not surprising given how many fans the signature style has on TikTok; Bottega Veneta’s mini Jodie braided bag at number two, Prada’s denim bralette at number four, Marine Serre Fuseaux Moonfish leggings at number five, Mugler sheer panel bodysuit at number nine (thanks, Megan Fox!), and last, but certainly not least, Rodarte’s daisy-print dress.

As for the brands leading the charge this quarter, not much has changed in the last three months, with Gucci maintaining its top spot on Lyst’s list of hottest labels. According to the Q2 Index, the Italian fashion house’s continued popularity came from its Gucci Aria film and runway show with Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia; the launch of #GucciBeloved, the brand’s campaign with James Corden and other house favorites like Harry Styles, Dakota Johnson, and Diane Keaton; and new Gucci home decor (3-D-printed dragons were unfortunately not included in the drop).

Taking home silver was Dior — a move up from Q1 — followed by Nike, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Balenciaga, Moncler, Bottega Veneta, Saint Laurent, and Versace. Outside of the top-10 were Fendi, Burberry, Off-White, Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Loewe, Givenchy, Balmain, Jacquemus, and Rick Owens.

Zendaya Channeled Lola Bunny In A Colorblocked Shorts Suit At The Space Jam Premiere

As if the ‘90s and ‘00s weren’t already having a moment in fashion, Zendaya is now taking on a classic Looney Tunes character on the red carpet.

On Monday night, the actress attended the premiere of Space Jam: A New Legacy, the LeBron James reboot of the Michael Jordan-starring 1996 film. Ever the statement-maker, Zendaya dressed up as Lola Bunny, who she voices in the new film, in a colorblocked two-piece jacket-and-shorts combo by Moschino and white pump heels, paired with a high ponytail reminiscent of the animated character.

The actress’ inspiration was confirmed on Instagram by her stylist Law Roach, who posted a video of her on the red carpet with the caption: “Tell me you’re Lola Bunny without telling me you’re Lola Bunny.”

Zendaya’s look channels the new iteration of Lola Bunny, the love interest of Bugs Bunny. Last year, Warner Bros. announced a desexualized redesign of the character, ahead of the new Space Jam sequel. “Listen, I understand people don’t want things to change, but I think we needed some evolution with her, not by objectifying her but by making her strong and still feminine,” director Malcolm D. Lee told IndieWire

In the film, Lola Bunny now wears hoodies instead of a crop top and a basketball jersey with a rainbow-hued logo on it. It’s no surprise then that Roach selected a multicolored number from Moschino’s Resort 2022 collection for Zendaya.

This is not the first time the stylist-and-actress pair have chosen bold colors for the red carpet. Last month, Zendaya channeled Beyoncé at the BET Awards in an archival Versace purple-and-green dress originally worn in 2003 by the “Single Ladies” singer at the same ceremony. Back in April, the Euphoria star won best-dressed at the 2021 Academy Awards when she showed up in a neon yellow dress with a midriff cutout by Valentino.

Space Jam: A New Legacy comes out in theaters and HBO Max on July 16.

Miami Swim Week Featured Tarzan Bottoms & Upside-Down Bikinis

Hot off the tail of Haute Couture Week was Miami Swim Week, which returned post-pandemic with a serious selection of swim and beachwear to enjoy for the remainder of summer (and beyond).

The four-day swimwear spectacle — which saw hundreds of brands, veterans and newcomers alike, arrive in Miami Beach — introduced a bevy of swimwear trends, ranging from Tarzan bottoms and upside-down bikinis to three-piece beachwear sets and flossy separates. Other standouts included crochet bikinis, belly chains, and cut-outs, one of the year’s top red carpet and street style trends. Clearly, after spending last summer in lockdown, making a statement with our swimsuit collection this year is a must.

Ahead, see every wet ‘n’ wild swimwear trend that made waves in Miami Beach.

Cut-Outs

If you thought the swimwear world was immune to fashion’s current obsession with cut-outs, you were wrong. From patterned one-pieces at the Emilio Pucci presentation to high-rise bikinis with under-belt holes at Jonathan Simkhai, this trend revealed itself as a top contender at nearly every show and presentation.

Tarzan Bikinis

Worried about tan lines? We suggest ditching the cut-outs for a day or two and opting instead for a barely-there Tarzan bikini, the Megan Thee Stallion-approved swimwear trend that leaves very little to the imagination.

Belly Chains

We saw them at the Chanel show on Lily-Rose Depp, and again in Savage x Fenty's Savage Summer campaigns — the next stop on the belly chain's route to the top of the trend charts? Miami Swim Week.

Upside-Down Bikinis

They might not be your best chance at going flash-free in the ocean, but, I’ll admit, upside-down bikinis look good on Instagram and runways alike.

Beachwear Sets

These days, you need a full look — including a matching sarong and crop top — for your beach ensemble to feel complete. See Boohoo’s show at the Versace Mansion for proof.

Flossy Separates

Tarzan bikinis aren’t the only skimpy swimwear silhouette garnering popularity this summer. Flossy separates, with strings that criss-cross every which way, are also trending. That said, like cut-out suits, you’re bound to end the day with one hell of a tan line. All to say: Don’t forget sunscreen!

Crochet Bikinis

Another fashion trend that’s creeping into swimwear? Crochet. And like Harry Styles’ DIY JW Anderson cardigan, these knit beachwear looks will have us knitting for months. Or not, if you settle for one of the pieces from Sports Illustrated or Boohoo that showed them during Swim Week.
