Binders, Bralettes & Sweats: 7 Women Reveal The Clothes That Make Them Feel Their Sexiest

I’ve never felt comfortable wearing dresses. They feel strange and ill-fitting to me — despite the fact that I envy how other people look in them. I know this is part of a larger conversation about my gender dysphoria: I was socialized as a woman, but I’ve been questioning my gender for a while now.

But on the subject of sundresses, I know they represent charm and romantic appeal to so many people — including my partner. In reality, I’m more of a black-T-shirt-and-biker-shorts type of person. I’ve always worn classic Vans, Doc Martens, and Birkenstocks (like a true bisexual, so I’ve been told). I rock flannels, jumpsuits, and button-downs instead of skirts and floral tops. I traded in my lace pushup bras for sports bras years ago, and I’ve never looked back. So, while I might like the idea of sporting a sundress, I feel far sexier in a T-shirt.

When I’m in the clothes that suit me, I’ve noticed that I carry myself differently. I feel like I’m really inhabiting my own body — which is to say that, broadly speaking, there’s an undeniable connection between how we dress and how we feel. And even if Instagram models and sponsored ads would have us believe that in order to be objectively attractive, one must sport matching lingerie sets and little linen dresses, in reality, the things that we feel sexiest in are personal. Sex appeal is subjective — and so are the ways we might clothe ourselves to achieve it.

That’s why we partnered with AZOⓇ* — the urinary and vaginal health brand that’s all about doing away with bodily shame of all kinds — to ask seven women and gender-nonconforming folks about which clothes make them feel their sexiest and most confident. Here’s what they had to say.

Thalita F., 28, Las Vegas

“Ever since I had my first child a couple of months ago, I’ve found myself looking for new ways to feel sexy. Both my headspace and my body are changing — so, at the moment, loungewear has been a big favorite. I never thought I’d feel sexy in sweatpants and a sports bra, with my postpartum tummy and stretch marks out, but knowing how powerful my body is and seeing the beauty in how it created my daughter, I feel even sexier than I did pre-baby.”

Jamie S., 31, United Kingdom

“When I finally started throwing off the binary ideals of what ‘should’ be sexy, I found so much joy and freedom in my self-expression. As a transmasculine person, I feel most confident and most like myself when I’m wearing a binder, a T-shirt or shirt, and ‘men’s’ underwear. I feel grounded. Like everything just falls into place. Seeing my inner self expressed on the outside has given me a level of self-confidence that I didn’t think was possible in the 30 years before I started exploring my gender. Shirts and boxers have given me more confidence and self-love than any trip to Victoria’s Secret ever did.”

Kelly A., 40, South Wales

“The clothing I feel sexiest in will always be classic ‘80s vintage. Basically anything with shoulder pads. My favorite item at the moment has to be my ‘80s denim dress (with pockets) or my electric blue  jumper dress with fur shoulders. Both give me a sense of power, and I feel like that’s reflected in the silhouettes of the garments. I think the flamboyant styles I’m veering toward right now link to the open nature of my sexuality. I’m not afraid of who I am and what I stand for, and I think my clothes speak that message, too.”

Taneasha W., 28, North Carolina

“I feel most confident when I’m showing off my favorite physical assets — and I’m not ashamed to say those are my cleavage and my thighs. I feel sexiest in an airy cleavage-baring sundress in a bright color that’s short enough to show some thigh.

“Because I’m a larger-bodied person, I’ve grown accustomed to being hyper-aware of what my body looks like or how other people are potentially reacting to it. I hate wearing things that make me want to shift and adjust all day — like shapewear or tight skirts. That said, one of my least favorite parts of my body has always been my belly, so I also make a point to go out of my way to wear things that don’t hide it: crop tops, high-waisted shorts, and dresses that show a little jiggle. There’s always something sexy about having the confidence to show off your body.”

Christine S., 33, Long Island

“I feel sexiest when I’m in summer clothes — mini skirts and little tops. In winter, it feels like I’m hiding my body. It feels strange and restrictive to have to do so just to keep warm.”

Tawny L., 36, New York City

“I’m obsessed with Skims — I walk around the house in my matching sets and feel sexy AF. And my partner notices, too. I can tell he sees the shift in my confidence. I honestly just love looking at myself in the mirror, and finding that validation in myself means I’m relying less on him for it.

“The dopamine-dressing trend has an effect on my confidence, too. I’m wearing brightly colored matching sets that boost my dopamine, which has a positive impact on my mental health, and in turn, helps me feel more confident with my sexuality.”

Celestina D., pending age, London

“I love wearing anything that accentuates my body. Do I have a big tummy? Yes. Do I have an ass for days? You’re damn right. But I no longer shy away from outfits and swimwear that I’m ‘not supposed’ to wear. I will wear that thong lingerie, I will wear that skimpy bikini, and I will most certainly wear that cutout dress, because they all make me feel sexy and empowered.

“I will also say that coming out as bisexual has allowed me to express myself even more. I no longer have anything to hide, and I find it so freeing to live in my truth, from championing my sexuality to embracing my body. Accepting my curves, bumps, roundness, and femininity is the best decision I’ve ever made.”

Rebag’s New Launch Includes Secondhand Chanel Tweed Jackets & Designer Sneakers

Over the past few years, luxury secondhand shopping has grown exponentially, with more brands adopting in-house resale programs and collaborating with resale platforms. To meet the increased demand for designer secondhand goods, handbag reseller Rebag is expanding to include clothing and footwear.

“We are excited to offer our customers new categories to invest in,” the company’s CEO and founder Charles Gorra said in a press release. “This has always been a request from both our buyers and sellers and will help us address a larger share of their resale needs.”

The new categories will offer shoes from brands like Nike and Manolo Blahnik, as well as outerwear from luxury houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci, and streetwear-heavy labels like Yeezy and Adidas. While for now the clothing category will be limited to items like tweed Chanel jackets, Moncler puffers, and printed Gucci sweaters, Gorra says there are plans to expand the apparel offering in the future to include more products. This new launch will also allow customers to consign luxury shoes and clothing at Rebag, which, in 2020, added jewelry and designer watches to its roster.

While handbags and accessories will remain a focal point for Rebag, Gorra says that the addition of new categories will give its customers a chance to fill out the rest of their wardrobe.

“We love handbags, but if you think about it, 80% of your closet is probably not that,” he says. “We thought those two categories [shoes and clothing] are the next step to offer a more wholesome resale experience.”

Rebag’s new select clothing and footwear categories are now available shop online and in-store.

Why Luxury Fashion Should Embrace Resale

Don’t Mind Me, I’ll Be Wearing This Short Jumpsuit All Summer Long

If you were to peer through my summer wardrobe, there’s one thing you would see: jumpsuits — rows and rows of them. One-and-done outfits are my thing, and I’m always ready to add more. While my go-to style for these one-pieces revolves around the smocked wide-leg kinds, I’ve been on the search for a shorter length. The temperature is reaching the 90s, and no matter how breezy these longer lengths are, it’s getting a wee bit hot. That’s when I met Alex Mill’s Standard Short Jumpsuit. Beware, it has a similar name to the original beloved short sleeve and long pants version, the Standard Short Sleeve jumpsuit. However, I got the new prime summer version with short sleeves and shorts. It’s the new vacation-worthy style that Alex Mill fans are already falling in love with for the hot weather. Say goodbye to stuffy pants and hello to airiness!

Standard Short Jumpsuit In Cotton Twill, $168

I’ve tried on both the short and long short-sleeved jumpsuit in the same cotton twill and oat milk hue. The other colorways include army green and a dark navy, but I was drawn to this adorable shade for summer days. I’m obsessed with how effortless it is, and you only need a few key accessories to spice it up. (I usually opt for a quirky drawstring bucket bag and a pair of cute sandals.) Unlike my usual flowy jumpsuits, I found the slightly structured utility design refreshing and different. Additionally, intricate details made me feel it was well thought out. For instance, the cuffs on the sleeves, shorts, and oversized pockets. Although it’s an investment at $168, you’re getting a one-of-a-kind jumpsuit that is easy to style and makes you feel confident. The cotton twill material is also sturdy yet soft and lightweight with a bit of stretch that makes it oh so comfy. And, like all Alex Mill pieces, it’s designed to last and to be worn season after season.

The jumpsuit is easy to slip into with seven buttons up the front. I found that the only time these buttons became a hassle was when I had to use the bathroom. Mind you; it was a Porta Potty at a summer festival. Hence, I wouldn’t recommend wearing it if there isn’t a clean or big enough bathroom available for you to shimmy out of it. In addition, since there are more buttons than a zipper, it’s not form-fitting and quite roomy. When it came to sizing, I opted for my usual size small, but it ranges from XS to XL. If you want a slightly fitted look, there are adjustable buttons on the waist that you can cinch back.

I have this jumpsuit in Oatmilk – it’s the perfect French vanilla off-white. So comfy and effortlessly cool. I bought a medium for a slightly oversized look, and it fits just right. I wish they made this one in more colors! I’m going to be living in it all summer.

Alex Mill Reviewer

Everything from the unique short style jumpsuit to the details and fit makes this one-piece the primadonna of my collection. Alex Mill enthusiasts agree too; while the new version doesn’t have as many reviews as the older styles, they praise in unison that the fit and length of the shorts and sleeves are just right. One reviewer was especially ecstatic about the fit, saying they even jumped up and down when they first tried it on. ” It’s easy to put on and take off, the fabric is magical, and it made me feel like a badass boss. I think I can wear it anywhere and be comfortable and stylish,” they conclude. I wholeheartedly agree with another reviewer who exclaimed that they’ll live in it all summer. I’m glad that it won’t be just me.

This Celeb-Favorite Jumpsuit Can Finally Be Yours

These Denim Jumpsuits Are Plus-Size Perfection

If Your Dress-Fatigue Is Real, Try A Jumpsuit

I Tried SKIMS Best-Selling Line & Found My Holy Grail Bodysuit

Ever since SKIMS broke the internet when it first launched in 2019, I’ve seen countless people chiming into the conversation about Kim Kardashian’s shapewear and loungewear venture. While viral internet chatter doesn’t always grab my attention, both straight-sized and plus-sized communities seemed to take a liking to the brand’s elevated basics, cozy loungewear, and uniquely comfortable underwear essentials — so much so that it’s not uncommon for pieces to be out of stock. Take, for example, our review of the viral, rarely-in-stock lounge dress. Typically, we see this flying-off-the-shelves hype as the sign of a must-have product. But, while SKIMS is no stranger to selling out, you can usually find plenty of sizes and options in its Fits Everybody collection. It’s not because it’s slept-on, either: Fits Everybody is also the brand’s most popular line.

The collection is made up of everything from the perfect cropped tee to comfy undies in a range of neutrals, nudes, and fun, seasonal colors. The Fits Everyone’s most notable detail, however, is its innovative construction. In fact, it would be understandable if, after purchasing a piece, you thought SKIMS had somehow messed up your order. These buttery-soft basics are designed to stretch — up to twice their size. Aside from allowing for flexibility in fit, the extreme stretch is also supposed to create a flattering, form-fitting look that can be worn as base layers or on their own.

SKIMS’s PR reps were kind enough to send over an assortment of Fits Everybody bestselling styles so I could really dive deep into the offerings and get a true sense of the fit and feel of this power-packed lineup of goods. Read on for my in-depth review of popular from the collection, including some SKIMS Fits Everbody bralettes and SKIMS Fits Everybody bodysuits, and learn EXACTLY why I’m officially a SKIMS convert.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Super Cropped T-Shirt, $42

Size Range: XXS-4X
Size Worn: 3X

I’m a sucker for a cropped top and really any chance to show my midriff. I really loved the simplicity of everything in this collection, especially this t-shirt. I think it’d be great for layering or just wearing as it is. Right out of the package it honestly looks kinda small, but there’s a significant amount of Elastane in this top (and the rest of the items in the collection). That’s why it’s so stretchy, and it’s probably why the Fits Everybody fabric go over even the largest areas of my chest seamlessly. The hem of the top also seemed to be lined to help it say put as well.

SKIMS Fits Everybody High Neck Bodysuit, $58

Size Range: XXS-4X
Size Worn: 3X

It’s no secret that I swear by the powers of a good bodysuit. It takes the extra work out of continuously tucking your top into your pants. Apart from the extra comfy and stretchy fabric, a high-neck bodysuit is ideal for anyone that wants a more modest cut top that can still be sexy too. The high neck makes it virtually impossible for any embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions to take place. It was particularly awesome because I didn’t need to wear a bra to get an adequate amount of lift. For reference, My chest is a 42DDD.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Square Neck Bodysuit, $58

Size Range: XXS-4X
Size Worn: 3X

The material of the square-neck bodysuit was the same as most everything else in the collection. It was pretty lightweight and looked small but stretched a ton. I don’t think it lifted my breasts as much as the high-neck bodysuit (probably because of the thinner straps). However, it makes a great universal black tank top to have that’ll go with so many outfits from jeans to skirts and more. This top also shows a little more cleavage for those with larger breasts.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Crossover Bralette, $32 & Fits Everybody Full Brief, $20

Size Range: XXS-4X
Size Worn: 3X in both

As far as “barely there feeling” underwear goes, SKIMS takes the cake. I have thicker thighs that feel constricted in the leg openings of many pieces of underwear I’ve tried over the years. That didn’t happen with these. The material gracefully stretched over my legs and felt as light as a feather to the touch. I prefer a fuller coverage brief typically, so I opted for that here.

From the reviews on the Skims website, I thought the crossover bralette might not fit, and I’d need a size up. However, the 3X fit perfectly well. As someone with DDD cups, I’m always worried that whatever bra I wear won’t cover my nipples properly, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very cute and felt supportive sans underwire. Like with most pieces in the collection, both come in eight nude shades, a true black, and a variety of fun seasonal options.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Scoop Neck Bra, $32 & Fits Everbody High-Waisted Thong, $20

Size Range: XXS-4X
Size Worn: 3X in both

I’m not a really big thong advocate, largely because it usually feels like I have a wedgie when I wear them. This pair is probably the first underpants that I’ve ever worn that genuinely don’t feel like I’m wearing anything. The thinner, light, and stretchier material also contributes to the “wearing nothing while wearing something” feeling. I truly think it’d be hard to wear any other brand’s thongs at this point. I really don’t have any notes for these, they’re basically perfect.

The scoop neck bralette is a great everyday bra. It looks so small but managed to stretch over my larger bust. The flexible fabric makes it possible for a wide range of cup sizes to wear the same band size. The fabric for the bra is a little on the thinner side and can look a little sheer depending on the light. This wasn’t something I minded that much because it’ll be covered most of the times that I’ll be wearing it. I’ve worn it for hours on end. It’s probably my most worn piece in the collection thus far.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Tee, $58

Size Range: XXS-4X
Size Worn: 4X

When I ordered the pieces for review, the Fits Everybody tee was only available in a 4X in black. I decided to give it ago, and I think it turned out pretty well. There was a little extra fabric in the shoulder area, so for an even closer fit, I’d size down. I’d say the sizing is really flexible depending on what look you are going for. The cut of the tee is a teeny bit shorter than a classic t-shirt, but it’s definitely longer than a full-on crop.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Henley Crop Top, $46

Size Range: XXS-4X
Size Worn: 3X

The Fits Everybody henley crop top has a pretty similar feel and fit as the super-cropped tee I also tried on from this collection. The buttons were the main differentiator in my opinion. I liked that it gave the top a slightly different look and you could undo them to change things up.
